Happiness is indeed an immaterial experience which every one feels in the most special occasions of life.On one hand, Neuroscientists, nowadays, are very keen to understand the psycho-physiology of happiness and its benefits on health. To cite a relevant example,in a study published in the Journal of Brain Behavior and Immunity 2006, they discovered that 81 graduates after receiving the first two doses of Hepatitis B, the participants who acquired higher scores in the rating of positive emotions were able to produce twice the level of normal antibody response to the vaccine, which simply means Positive emotions enhances immune response at cellular level. (1)
On the other hand Social psychologists are dedicating their precious time to find the paramount factors which help in sustaining happiness. Some of them discovered the following parameters to measure happiness of an individual.
(1) Having control over your life. Working in a superior position rather than working under a boss makes you more happier as you enjoy the freedom and control over your life by adjusting work life balance.
(2) Having good marital relationship and supportive family. Research have discovered unmarried couples tend to be more unhappy than married couples.
(3) Having a best friend. In a study , it was revealed that a best friend was worth $5000 Dollars. Friend is indispensably a factor of happiness.
(4) Having an enjoyable job. Statistics reveal that unemployed men are more unhappier than the employed men. Because having a job ensures one hope and stability in his family life.
( 5) Having the power to influence the political power of a nation. People living in a democratic countries enjoy a national happiness by enjoying the right to choose its own government that the citizens of Dictatorial nations doesn’t have.
Even though these factors apparently influences our happiness, it is not necessary that you can enjoy your life based on the evidences build on the general statistical postulates. It is because it have missed the most fundamental concept that determines your happiness. Lets find out more about that!
Today, the Neuroscience have proven that the 90% of long term happiness is determined by the way how we perceive the external world, not on the external factors (as mentioned above) which gives one pleasure and happiness. Metaphysically, all the external factors indeed gives you happiness and it is a crystal clear experience for everyone. But, when it comes to reality, It is even capable of giving the worst and unimaginable tragedies in ones life when he loose these external pleasures. Besides no one can assure a granted promise that all this pleasures of the external world will be in favor for you. Sometimes its just opposite or even in its extremes.
Concluding, internal happiness is inevitably the pure and everlasting source of happiness which takes birth from the innate nature of human beings at birth as well as the miraculous way in which our brains perceive the external world, which is in turn again governed by our past positive and negative experiences, beliefs and emotions.

Everybody loves to be young and healthy. But it’s true that one has to age as he passes through time. Our immune systems defense mechanism becomes impaired as we go older. But it is not necessary that everyone has to get aged. Yes! There are some exceptions. Some exceptions make you young. Stress, off course is a leading cause of aging. In a study, it was found that spouse and children who were given constant care and support lived 4-8 years more than rest of the group. The researchers discovered that subjects that lacked care and support had a decreased telomerase activity. Telomerase is an enzyme that is essential to increase the size of telomeres that are present at the tip of our chromosomes. These telomeres contain genetic information for replication and division of our cells. But as time passes, the size of the telomere decreases in size. Telomerase prevents the shortening of telomeres. When we are in stress, the cortisols (stress hormones) released from our adrenal gland inhibit the telomerase enzyme By inhibiting telomerase enzyme, cortisol find its way to age a person fast by decreasing the size of telomere that is essential for the replication and division of our cells.

Today, we have discovered that chronic stress can lead to premature aging of DNA. Stress is off course a tough enemy we have to deal with in our daily life.  According to American Psychological Association, in a stress in America survey they have found that about 48% of Americans have increased their stress level in the past 5 years. Stress can bud from marital, family, social, job and mental frictions. Studies have found that stress can lead to raised blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, peptic ulcer diseases, altered menstrual cycle and loss of libido. We think stress affects our health when we grow old and mature. But that’s not the reality of stress! Our stress begins right from the womb of our mother. It might be strange but it’s scientific and well established. A baby’s intrauterine environment is shaped by a mother’s pre existing physical health. In a study, it has been revealed that higher the prenatal anxiety in a mother, shorter wills the telomeres in the chromosomes of their children. In other study, it was revealed that a maltreatment, abuse, severe neglect and bad parenting could also affect the length of telomere in the chromosomes of our children. You might believe since we can’t change our genes, we won’t be able control our aging. We believe so because we were taught right from our schools that our life and health is determined by our genes. But the new emerging science like epigenetics have discovered that the environment (parenting, social relationships) have a big influence over our genes. A study by Colter Mitchel PhD have discovered that a warm and interactive high quality parenting have could prevent aging by preventing stress and promoting telomerase activity.

Aging is irreversible. But stress is reversible. Aging due to stress can age you age you up to 4-8 years. By extinguishing away our stress we can live about 4-8 years longer than rest of others. So how we will wipe away our stress? Stress takes its birth from our uncontrolled thoughts and emotions. If we ask ourselves, who is controlling our mind, is it us or our thoughts? We would definitely say it’s our thoughts. In order to extinguish away our stress we need to get control over our thoughts and emotions. Studies have discovered that the cortisols (stress hormones) are released in our body the moment we experience a negative thought. So imagine, how much negative thoughts we have to undergo during our daily life due to responsibilities in job, family and society and while encountering tough peoples even in a normal life. Yes!  Stress is a common enemy of a modern man. There are several ways available today to wipe away our stress.  NLP therapeutics, Meta thinking, mindfulness, aerobic exercises are a few of them. If you deeply desire to stay young, then I would suggest you to throw away your stress. In sum, positive thoughts and positive emotions are the secret keys to stay you young and healthy. In other words, it is an anti aging medicine.

Recently i got into an interview as a part of my assessment. The interviewer asked me about the existence of consciousness, which usually everyone knows . Although it was a predictable question, yet an unexpected question for a beginner. On hearing the question, a puzzle of twists and tricks shrieked through my mind. Yes! its those twists i would like to unwind today here on my wall.

Consciousness is defined and explained to public and pupils in diverse ways. Philosophy, religion, spirituality, metaphysics and often jargons has its own explanation and views. Sometimes its sheer waste of time trying to explain an incomprehensible entity, while on the other hand its the only awesome entity which can give clues to the beginning and end of the universe. Hmm, though it sounds philosophical, some have explored into the science of consciousness. And its results are astounding! at times, its brainstorming too.The question was a little bit twisting, just like a chicken and egg paradox.

He asked: ‘I say consciousness is a symptom of life. In your opinion, which evolved first, consciousness or life? Magnifico! thats an awesome question. And it was so nostalgic at the same time! I have heard that similar word before. New Agey, i suppose! My guess was absolutely right though forbidden.Later on I’ve came to know the interviewer was a superb reader as well as a great follower of New age culture in the west, from the bullets of twisting questionnaire he shot at me. However, i had to dwindle my answer because i knew the interviewer was expecting a metaphysical answer rather than an experimentally proved thesis that obviously needs a scientific validation. To be suboptimal, i ended the scenario with a simple practical answer ” both consciousness and life are interlinked, there is no life without consciousness and there is no consciousness without life”. Anyway, It was a pleasant experience to meet a rare personality.

Furthermore, evidences and researches are aplenty to comprehend this puzzling questions which have sow as many as seeds of quest in seekers of consciousness. Its interesting to see day by day new discoveries and experimental models been published journals worldwide. I have a fundamental base for my answer though it may appear as mere words to suffix that situation. And that fundamental base had been the fundamental base for many researchers and scientist to dedicate their life to explore into the expounding secrets of the consciousness. So lets jump into that fundamental base which everyone talks about!

I think you are familiar with Youngs double slit experiment in physics. Obviously its were we learned that an atom has a particle and a wave nature at the same time. To sum up the experiment quickly, when a beam of light (photons) is passed through a slit, it was observed that a single fringe of light appeared over the screen. ( which means particle nature of photons ). However, on certain circumstances, the screen displayed multiple fringes of light ( which means wave nature of photons). This was of-course an experimental evidence for wave nature too, but thats not the point what we need to discuss about.

see figure 1 to refresh your memories.

Moreover, that doesn’t tells us the whole story. But what matters the most is the incident which happened a few moment later in the experiment. “That Trick of Universe Puzzled The Greatest Minds”. Perhaps that was the title which you might have read at the top of my article. Its almost time, i guess. You might have lost somewhere reading the whole article to know whats happening at the end of the article.

see figure 2 before reading the next passage.

I hope you might or might not have understood the figure. To make it shorter, whenever we physically observed the photons (atoms) in the experiment, it behaved like like particles. However, when we turned our attention away from the photons (atoms) , it behaved like waves. Which literally means that our consciousness can physically influence the behaviour of atoms or in other words the destiny (decree) of atoms of universe. To exemplify, our thoughts and emotions that constitutes the fundamental blocks of consciousness in a human body can some how influence or determine the direction of the atoms of the universe which is in other words are the reality of what we perceive with our 5+1 senses which makes the past, present and future of the universe . Thats the reason why i said “consciousness and life are interconnected” like the old sayings
Mashriq (sunrise) and Maghreb (sunset).

Emotions! Emotions are the medium through which we understand and apprehend each other’s attitude and stand towards the different situations of life. Emotions can be either pleasant or bitter. Positive emotions like love, joy and happiness give us the taste of the most pleasant pleasures of life. Whereas the bitter emotions like anger, disgust, hatred gives us heaviness in our chest and a bad feeling towards others and different incidences of our life. If we don’t Trans mutate these negative emotions they are more likely to get settled in the deepest portions of our mind. While most of us find difficult to manage these uprising negative emotions and may over react to situation and towards others, this cause them to loose relationships and work. Whereas most of us suppress these negative emotions in order to prevent hurting friends, family and coworkers and to get settled in work for acquiring pennies for daily bread. But do you know that suppression of negative emotions can imbalance ones immune system. Yes! Suppressing negative emotions can create an imbalance in the immune system of our body.
Studies have discovered that people who suppress their anger are likely to suffer a lot in their life. Though they save relationships from going sour, they generally end up being bitter. They find it difficult to find joy in the relationship as earlier, unless they transmutate their anger. Suppressed anger can trigger off stress patterns in our body. People who tend to suppress their anger or any other negative emotions have a decreased cell mediated immunity which is essential for the body to combat intracellular microorganisms that invade it, decreased blood monocytes that are essential for maintain immunity, elevated eosinophil which predisposes him to get more chances of getting allergy, poor NK activity that predisposes one to higher risk of viral infection and high serum EBV antibody titers indicating higher risk of infections like infectious mononucleosis. It was found that they also exhibit decreased levels of CD3 and CD8 lymphocytes. In short they save relationships yet lose out on health by the disruption of immune system thus increasing their chances for bacterial and viral infections. Some of them suppress their anger on account of fear or lack of inner courage to express their feelings in a refined manner. But this can also badly affect the immune system of our body. (1)

Here is a twist in the story of people who express their anger and negative emotions. The people who express their anger and negative emotions generally are the ones who let go off the emotion easily unlike some who live with it constantly for or a long time, even though they lose their relationships. Such people surprisingly have an increased NK Cell activity and decreased autonomic activity and change in blood reactivity to mitogens with rise in helper T cells and total lymphocyte counts. Such people can save their body but loose his relationships. After all loosing relationships is one of the major contributors to one’s stress! (1)

In sum, suppression of negative emotions can create an imbalance in immune system and increased susceptibility for viral infections and allergic reactions. And expressing the negative emotions can make people lose their precious relationships. So there comes a truth that both expressing and suppressing emotions can cause damage for a person. And the question comes then what is the solution in extinguishing the negative emotions that we experience in our daily life that imbalances our immune system.
In 2003 Dr. Richard Davidson and colleagues at university of Wisconsin – Madison investigated the impact of emotions on Flu. In it 52 participants were asked to recall the best and worst times of their life while having a brain scan. Next volunteers were given flu vaccine, and their flu antibodies were measured in serum after 6 months. It was discovered that the subjects who experienced negative emotions according to brain activity had fewer antibodies and the subjects who experienced the worst has 50% less antibody than who were less upset. Yes! The antibodies produced from the B cells against the flu virus are also influenced by our emotions. From this experiment it is crystalline clear that the positive emotions will improve the antibodies produced from B cell by just visualizing and feeling our positive emotions whereas visualizing and feeling negative emotions can cause decreased antibody production from B cell. Visualizing and feeling are the one of the fundamental principles by which NLP therapeutics works on. By transmutating negative emotions using the most miraculous and marvelous techniques of NLP we are able to restore the health and balance of the immune system. This makes one Immune to the viruses and bacteria.
At our labs, we were able to experimentally resolve several cases like allergy, sinusitis and recurrent upper respiratory tract infections by boosting immunity by transmutating negative emotions and enforcing positive emotions using NLP therapeutics. We have seen and witnessed cases that have made a spontaneous resolution of cases like allergy. Stress is always one of the most fundamental causes for increasing the risk for upper respiratory tract infections caused by gram positive bacteria. By extinguishing the negative emotions that harms us in our daily life using the NLP therapeutics we are able to restore the health of the upper airway tract.
In short by transmutating the negative emotions into positive emotions we are able to bring the balance into the immune system. By doing so we are bringing harmony in immune system by bringing harmony in emotions. This helps not only in bringing perfection of health but also helps in getting the control over anger by transforming the negative emotions that brings tragedies into our life. The fundamental base of achieving success is the inner ability of a person to transmutate his own negative emotions and the inner ability to enforce the mind with positive emotions during the therapeutics. In sum, the NLP therapeutics is highly effective and powerful enough to restore the imbalance in the immune system created by the suppression of the negative emotions.

About 14.8 million American adults live with Major Depression according to National institute of Mental health. It is estimated that by 2020, Depression will become the 2nd most common leading disability after ischemic heart disease. Most of the people have a belief that Depression is something that occurs spontaneously and is a disorder that can never be restored. Depression in reality is not a disorder but a gradually developing sadness created due to suppressed anger over a long period of time. In other words anger turned inside. Depression is seen in individuals who suppress their negative emotions. Negative emotions are those emotions that make us feel bad about ourselves, others and at different situations of life. Depression is likely to be seen in individual who don’t have enough self-confidence to respond back to their bullies. When a person continues to suppress anger he stands at risk of moving to a mental state of hatred. The intensity of this hatred towards the people and situations for whom/ which the anger lies within him unexpressed will generally increase with the passage of time. This is because people who suppress their negative emotions generally try to vent their anger through internal criticism. They keep on playing and replaying their reactions in their mind thereby not allowing the mind to forgive and forget. They then move from this stage of hatred to either of the following two stages-
1) They may suddenly be so overwhelmed by this emotion that has been building up within them for some time that they may display a sudden outburst of outrage. This sudden emotional outburst is akin to a chronic abscess that suddenly puffs out. It may lead him to take some drastic step against the subject of his hatred, like murder. This depends on the beliefs and underlying emotions encoded in the sub conscious mind.
2) The second stage is that of extreme sadness on account of failure to accomplish goals dear to him or due to the lack of confidence to face a series of negative criticisms directed at him. Finally when the situation becomes unbearable he moves into a state of depression. Depression is a result of series of unexpressed anger or anger turned inwards. Such individuals are more likely to get into suicide tendencies.
In sum due to lack of confidence in individuals to face their bullies or situations, the unexpressed anger against their bullies or situations settle down deep within the unconscious mind over a period of time getting it converted to stage of hatred against their bullies or situations, this hatred later gets converted to a stage of extreme sadness that he or she is helpless against their bullies and situations, later this extreme sadness later gets in to the stage of depression characterized by extreme sadness and passivity in life.
People generally diagnosed with depression do not show any signs/ symptoms till they move into the state. They generally appear normal till the last minute before falling victim to this state. Any idea how it feels when one is in this stage? Well, it’s like continuing to load a hot and weary camel moving along the red hot desert sand. The poor thing though exhausted is laden further on reaching the next town. The camel has no choice but to continue to pull along for fear of his master who is constantly prodding him to move along often even wielding the stick. Finally when it reaches its destination it is so tired and worked out that it is unable to carry something as light as a leaf. The leaf falls down and so does the camel. Now if someone were to ask a casual onlooker why the camel fell he may say, “When the leaf was placed on it, it fell.” But only one who has been with the camel throughout its journey will know that it buckled down on account of exhaustion. This is exactly what happens when a person suppresses his emotions. He continues to be weighed down by the negative emotions adding others on the way and finally a day arrives when he cannot handle anymore and thus falls into a state of depression. Though others may put down his state to just the last incident known to them, in reality it is the sum total of all that he has experienced and hidden within himself over a passage of time. Once a person reaches a state of depression he/ she find life unbearable and may even wish to embrace death. Some even attempt/ commit suicide. But why? Well, it happens that such people are unable to bear the burden of uncontrolled emotions. The wave of emotions tries to find a vent. But lack of courage to face it head on, prevents them from opening up. Finally they succumb to the easiest way out- suicide. A vast majority of cases of depression go unnoticed/ undiagnosed. Sometimes it is the family of the victim that is the villain. The fear of losing face in society prevents them from providing timely medical aid to the victim.

The normal living cell is composed of a cell membrane, nucleus, DNA and mitochondria. Each organelle of the cell serves a particular major role in the human body. This functioning of each cell is crucial when it comes to sustaining the life of a cell. For example: mitochondrion of a cell is essential for the generation of ATP which is the molecular energy which is essential for the various metabolic reactions in a single cell to occur. The DNA, mRNA and the t RNA is essential for the transcription and the translation of various proteins and peptides that are essential for its daily growth and metabolism. The cell membrane consist of numerous receptors that allows the flux of Na+, K+, Cl-, H+ ions. The blood, plasma Extra cellular fluids and the intra cellular fluids of our body is composed of ions like H+, Na+, K+,Cl-, Ca2+.
At molecular level, each and every metabolic reaction occurs due to the interaction between two or more peptides or proteins. The protein in fact is nothing but a molecular structure made up of atoms like carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen. The reason for any reaction to occur between each molecule is nothing but due to the unpaired electron or electron deficiency in the reacting proteins. When the reaction occurs it is inevitable that electron jumps from one protein to another causing a creation of an electric current. In physics it is inevitable that the electric current cannot co-exist without magnetic field. There are more than trillion cells in our body and there are more than a 100 discovered metabolic reactions taking place at a time. This metabolic reaction is a continuous process until a man’s death. In the meantime a net huge amount of electromagnetic field is been generated within each cell. These electromagnetic fields only accounts for the contents in the cytoplasm of the each cell and the extracellular fluids.
The mitochondrion which is known as the store house of energy is the only source for the human cell which can derive energy for its survival. Without that it is tougher and difficult for the human cell to survive. If there is no mitochondrion we won’t ever get energy for our growth and development. The energy protein known as the ATP is formed in mitochondria as a result of continuous influx and efflux of H+ ions or protons across the mitochondrial membrane that help in the series of oxidation reduction chemical reactions to occur. These protons are nothing but a charge. In the principle of electromagnetism it is solid law that the movement of any charge creates electricity. And it is also evident that the magnetic field cannot co-exist without electricity. Thus it is foolproof that our mitochondria is constantly generating a 3 dimensional electromagnetic field that is constantly present in our when we play, walk, talk, eat, sleep, read etc. This is only about the electromagnetic field that generates from the power house of cell
Now here is the funniest and the coolest reality that makes us more amazed. There is no living cell in our body without a cell membrane. In the fluid mosaic model proposed by singer and Nicolson, we all know that there are millions of protein channels on the cell membrane that allows the flux of water and ions like, Na+, K+, Cl-, H+ and other ions. Yes, there are millions of ions crossing millions of protein channel over the cell membrane at a single time in each and every cells of human body. By the law of electromagnetics, there is influx of millions of ions creating a strong electrical current which in turn generating a powerful magnetic field. Thus a powerful electromagnetic field is created. Yes, every living cells of human body are endured with electromagnetic field that generated within and surrounding them. In truth, the living cells in our body cannot exist without this electromagnetic field. Thus the electromagnetic field of the cells in the human body determines then quality of metabolism and chemical reactions of a cell. Yes, it determines the Life of the cell. The weaker the electromagnetic field, the feeble and sluggish would be the metabolic reactions in the body. The stronger the electromagnetic field, the more excellent will be the metabolic reactions in the body. Each cell in our body has 1.4 volts of energy. And there are about 5 trillion cells in our body. In sum 14 x 5 trillion, approximately 7 trillion volts of energy is been generated in our body.
In sum, our human body is completely immersed in an electromagnetic field. The quality and strength of this electromagnetic field determines the quality of cell proteins, hormones, peptides, neurons and cells of the human body. This bio electromagnetic property is the fundamental principles by which even the MRI we use to scan our body works on. In the MRI machine, we are introducing the patient into the MRI system to visualize the internal organs. To get the image of these internal organs, we create a strong external magnetic field using high watt electro magnets in order for the protons (H+) in the human plasma to align in a single desired direction. There after we introduce a high frequency external energy to excite these protons in the human plasma that aligns in a single direction due to the external electromagnetic field that is created by the powerful electro magnets that we use in MRI. When we stop sending the external energy, these protons start giving back the captured energy. This incoming energy is then absorbed by a detector and is then converted to images using intervening devices in the MRI system. MRI is one of the medical scanning that is not hazardous to a patient.
Concluding our body is made up of constantly flowing ions, charges and electrons that constantly generates electromagnetic fields in the human body. This electromagnetic field beyond its capacity to generate molecular reaction also carries embedded information and set of rules known as “intelligence”. In fact, Electromagnetic field cannot exist without charged particles and at the same time charged particles cannot exist without electromagnetic field. Yes, the “intelligence” in the electromagnetic field determines the health and disease of the cells in our body.

Tired student having a lot to read

Dr. FAHAD BASHEER

University exams are the fundamental factor that decides whether you have the eligibility to sit in the next year or whether you are eligible for the post nominal degree. University exams are inevitable when it comes to your undergraduate or postgraduate life. Depending on the status of the degree you take, you will have the bulk of topics and books to be covered and studied. For a higher degree like medical education you will indeed have a vast amount of topics to be covered for the upcoming exams. It’s tough, weary and stress worthy! Indeed no doubt about as everyone who passes through those stages of life normally witness these stress and are often subjected to this stress. Some may even avoid their sleep and some may even avoid their food in order to save the time for studying and covering subjects. Due to its vast topics medical students find it difficult to memorize the topics that they have previously learned. So the only thing that helps to write and pass their exams are nothing but the revision they starts before the day of the exams and luck in which the questions been asked from the topics they have learned for the exam. Because it is 100% impossible to cover up any medical textbooks for the exam due to its large volume of chapters and the vastness of the topics in it. This creates anxiety in not finishing the chapters that are yet to be studied. And creates tension as they tend to forget whatever they studied due to large amount of chapters they study within a short period of time. And while studying any data it is inevitable to use ones conscious mind for analyzing and rationalizing the subjects you learn. The overuse of one’s conscious mind will create the stress patterns in one’s body. As a result the students are subjected to the overuse of conscious mind, tensions and anxiety, whole of which contribute to the well-known term the “stress”. Apart from these other social fears like fear of failure in exams fear of aftereffects of failure contribute to Stress.

During stress, the adrenaline released shunts blood flow from forebrain that is essential to use your intelligence to the hind brain which regulates the reflex actions. This makes a person not able to focus on the tasks that he is focusing on. In other words the student won’t be able to focus on what he is studying. According to the American School Board of Journal June 2005 on “Test anxiety” It has been found that high anxiety can disrupt the student’s concentration and will result in low test score. Studies have discovered that when you are emotionally upset, “you can’t just think straight”. At the Heart Math institute, in their research they have found that, when we are stressed out our heart patterns becomes disorganized and non-coherent, the non-coherent heart patterns produces non coherent patterns in the brain. This decreases the brains ability to process information and in recognizing patterns and decreases the brains ability to solve problems and the brains ability to learn. This makes the student to feel that what he tries to learn doesn’t make any sense to him. As a result the student may get stressed up or throw off the book. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that acts as a stimulant and sensitizes brain cells to look for patterns. Strong dopamine levels are reflected in individuals with sharper thinking and focused behavior. Stress can cause imbalance in the normal production of dopamine by either resulting in overproduction leading to anxious, hyper vigilant or perfectionist behavior or by resulting in underproduction leading to inattention and unmotivated behavior. In a research it was discovered that neurons in the brain of a chronically stressed individual may have fewer and shorter dendrites. This deficiency impairs communication with other dendrites reducing brains ability to process information effectively.Stress can severely affect our working memory and long term memory.

The stress that you undergo during your exams not only affects your learning process and memory but also badly affects your physical health. University examinations especially the one in the final lap of a course generally tends to stress out the students. I have been witness to many of my fellow classmates suffering from oral ulcers, fever, headache, skin ailments and constipation. In 2008, researchers led by imminent psychologist Simon Knowles of Swineburne University of Technology, Australia found that the stool samples of students facing an examination had fewer lactobacilli than that found when they had during a relatively stress- free period e.g. during the start of a semester. This lactobacillus is essential for the production of 95% of the mood elevating hormone the serotonin, nutrition of 70% of immune cells and for proper digestion. But the best part is that these are just temporary phenomena and get resolved immediately on completion of the examination. It is also noticed that the healing process of pre-existing wounds and diseases too slows down during this period. Yes, stress can even cause delay in healing by 25% or more. It had been found out from the research that dental students took 40 % or longer to heal a small standardized wound made prior to exams compared to an identical wound made during their summer vacation. Cortisol released during stress inhibits immune cells that produce inflammatory cytokines that are essential for the early part of healing process.

In a research on impact of academic exams on medical students, it was discovered that the medical students who underwent academic examinations had down regulation of NK cell activity which is essential to destroy tumor cells. The levels of NK cells are considered indicative of immune strength. They play the role of first defense in controlling infection in the early stages of the same. Psychological stress reduces the Natural Killer cells and thereby paves the way for infection/ disease. A study involving medical students as its subject has revealed some startling facts. It was noted that stressed medical students tested on the day of their examination showed significantly lowered levels of immune markers including lowered levels of NK cells. It was also noted that lack of social bonding too had an adverse effect on these cell levels. Lonely medical students had lower levels of NK cell activity when compared to their more socially active counterparts. In the same study it was found that these medical students has lower synthesis of gamma interferon by peripheral blood leukocytes after stimulation with concanvalin A, altered expression of interleukin2 receptor and impaired cellular immune system control of the reactivation of certain latent herpes viruses. This clearly shows that the stress that we undergo during our exam is powerful enough to shut down our immune system.

A study conducted at the Ohio State University threw up an interesting fact with the risk of getting hepatitis respect to exam related stress by injecting hepatitis vaccine on the 3rd day of 3 day continuous academic exam on 3rd year medical students. The results revealed that immune response of students who appeared for the final examination (they are the ones prone to higher level of stress) to hepatitis was less when compared to students who were not under stress of any kind. They discovered that seroconversion of hepatitis antibody from Hbs Ag to anti Hbs Ag which represented that shift from infectious hepatitis to inactive hepatitis or acquirement of immunity was decreased in medical students with anxiety during the academic exams. In other words the stressed medical students took more time for seroconversion or antibody production.

Studies have revealed that written examination may or may not increase the cortisol levels, but oral examination (viva) spiked up the cortisol in the body. The instant stress experienced by the medical students was measured using salivary cortisol. In 2007, vaidya and mulaonkar as per their research pointed that the increased academic pressure during the first year as the one of the most responsible cause for increased anxiety and stress in medical examinations.

In sum, our university exam and the curriculum through which we go puts us in a lot of pressure and stress that impacts our mental health, learning process, memory, immune system and body a lot. A crystalline clear action is needed either to create a new curriculum that helps the upcoming students to be friendly with. Or an inevitable need is required in developing the confidence in students through psychological motivation in classrooms and familiarity with the uprising curriculum set up in different universities.

It happened while I was attending one of the most beautiful and amazing courses of the world. The RSNLP course of the international trainer Adv. Mueenudheen. Where for the first time I witnessed the total resolution varicose veins in a woman of 50s. This miracle happened when I was given an opportunity to do an NLP therapeutic approach for specifically treating varicose veins by interfering the root cause for the emotions that is suspected to be the psychosomatic cause for this particular disease. It was from a mother I’ve got the idea of healing mind body disorders that successfully treated her Childs psoriasis using the simplest techniques of NLP. Varicose veins are characterized by large tortuous veins that extend across the lower legs under the skin. The medical textbooks I’ve gone through bailey during my medical graduation defines its mechanical cause to be the incompetence of valves in the saphenofemoral junction and at perforators. They believe it is due to the long standing occupation that predisposes one to get the varicose veins apart from other causes for varicose veins. Which in fact is impossible on one hand because the surgeons who operatesseveral cases for a long period of time with enthusiasm and passion don’t get the same varicose veins. But it does occur in people who stands for a long time in a place or situation he or she hates feeling overworked and overburdened. And that miracle happened in minutes just before my eyes where several others therapists witnessed this event. The bulged out varicose veins resolved back. The leg which was wired with bulged and tortuous veins have vanished leaving behind the normal skin. The woman astonished by the miracle, thanking god she said: it has been years that she had been suffering from this chronic illness that handicapped her to an extent to carry out her daily routine activities due to its heaviness and pain in her lower limbs.

This was my first experience on curing the first mind body disorder that appeared before me. This motivated me to do an extensive research on the mind body connection and its impact on the health. From that point of time I came to know the power of human emotions that was capable to disease and cure the physical body. The mind, body and consciousness exist as a cybernetic loop in which the 3 systems are highly interlinked and dependent on each other. Any simple alternations in any one of the system can affect the other two systems regardless of time and space. This is the point where the laws of quantum physics become nakedly visible. I repeat the truth again: “The mind body and soul are interlinked each other independent of time and space” This forms the vital base of my theory. A theory that is bold and brave enough to explain the most fundamental and puzzling questions about the mind body continuum that have passed through the centuries.

Researchers conducted a study in a US military base. They collected leucocytes from a donor and extracted the DNA. Thereafter, the donor was kept in a room at the military base and was subjected to emotional stimulation by showing him various video clips. These clips were capable of generating different emotions in the donor. The result was amazing. It was noted that the donor’s extracted DNA exhibited the same electrical response as that of the donor himself and that too simultaneously without any time lag.  In the follow-up to this experiment, the researchers dispatched the DNA sample approx. 350 miles away from the military base camp housing the donor. The experiment was repeated. There was no change in the DNA’s response. The results were the same. It continued to be affected by the donor’s changing moods and feelings. It was then strongly established that the DNA has a wireless connect with its owner and his/her emotions. This connection is independent of time and space. Living cells and human emotions communicate through a form of energy that exists everywhere and at all times. From this experiment it is evident that our emotions can influence the very own living cells of our body independent of time and space. The question lies in how this miracle happens? In my book “The Science of Emotions” I have put forth the new inevitable theory of quantum mechanics that is majestic enough to explain this mind body connection that works independent of time and space.

I call that theory of reality as “THE FAHADS MIND BODY QUANTUM EFFECT”.  An effect that takes place independent of time and space.  I put forth the quantum mechanics that integrates into the mind body system explaining every single puzzling phenomena of the mind body continuum. When the wave function of one atom A coalesces with the wave function of another atom B, both the atoms are in a state of entanglement. When we place atom A at one corner of the earth and atom B elsewhere and then bring about changes in atom A, atom B is affected. It too exhibits the same changes and that too at the same time independent of time and place. This phenomenon is known as ‘quantum entanglement.’ In experiments conducted, laser beams were fired through a certain type of crystal thereby causing individual photons to split into pairs of entangled photons. These split photons were then separated and placed miles away. It was seen that photon A takes an up-spin state.  The entangled photon B though several miles away, took up a state relative to that of photon A (in this case a down-spin state). Any change induced in photon A was reflected in photon B at the very moment it was induced in A. This happened independent of time and space. Hence in quantum entanglement multiple particles are linked together such that the measurement of one particle’s quantum state determines the possible quantum state of the others. This unique and extraordinary phenomenon in the quantum mechanics is just the same that happens in the mind body continuum. According to the “THE FAHADS MIND BODY QUANTUM EFFECT” states that: “When the wave function of atoms of the human mind is coalesced with the wave function of the atoms of the human body, any change brought about in the atoms of the human mind (in the form of thoughts or emotions) affects the atoms (carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen etc) of human body independent of time and space”.

The human mind is an electromagnetic energy field that exists throughout body that can never be localized in the brain. This field carries information that decides the nature and functioning of the living cells.  In a study it was found that adrenaline produced in the body acts specifically on the receptors that it had to, while the adrenaline that was injected from outside (which was not produced in the body) acted randomly at all the receptors. Which clearly proves that the adrenaline produced in the body carried ‘information’ that the exogenous adrenaline did not have. This information is the matrix that decides the functioning of the cells. This matrix is influenced by the electromagnetic field of mind that comprises of information in the forms of emotions or thoughts. From this I postulate that: “the information in the human mind influences the matrix that governs the functioning of living cells in the form of energy”.

The question is “Is this possible?”  Does this postulation really happen in real biology of life? The information carried in the human mind is none other than our emotions and thoughts. Our emotions exist in our body in the form of electromagnetic waves that can be detected and mapped with the modern technologies. From a research it had been found out that the positive emotions like love had high frequency and lower wave length while the negative emotions like fear had lower frequency and higher wavelength. Due to their respective wave nature of emotions, Positive emotions like Love due to its high frequency it was able to act at multiple focal points on the DNAs antenna causing DNA to relax and express its codons to translate the respective proteins whereas the negative emotions like Fear was able to act at few focal points causing less expression of the DNAs codons. From this experiment, it is evident that depending on the information in the emotions, the activity and functioning of the DNA of the cell is influenced and regulated. From this ground breaking research I postulate that:” Depending upon the information in the human mind the activity and functioning of the living cells changes accordingly”. In other words if the information in the mind is positive, the living cells exhibit positive results and positive outcomes and if the information in the mind in negative, the living cells exhibit negative results and negative outcomes.  From this research I further extend the postulation as: “If the information in the human mind is positive the functioning of the cells will be in a positive state and if the information in the human mind is negative the functioning of the living cells will be in a negative state”

So by summating my new theory on the mind body connection:

(1) The mind body and soul are interlinked each other independent of time and space.

(2) When the wave function of atoms of the human mind is coalesced with the wave function of the atoms of the human body, any change brought about in the atoms of the human mind (in the form of thoughts or emotions) affects the atoms (carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen etc) of human body independent of time and space. This is known as The Fahads Mind Body Quantum Effect.

(3) The information in the human mind influences the matrix that governs the functioning of living cells in the form of energy.

(4) Depending upon the information in the human mind the activity and functioning of the living cells changes accordingly

(5) If the information in the human mind is positive the functioning of the cells will be in a positive state and if the information in the human mind is negative the functioning of the living cells will be in a negative state.

Autoimmune Disorders! Autoimmune disorders are a group of disorders in which our immune cells destroys our own cells. Thyroid disorders, Diabetes, Systemic lupus erythematosis etc. are few of the examples of autoimmune disorders. Still today the etiology of autoimmune disorders is unknown. This makes the modern medicine to write its cause as idiopathic. Most of the pathology of diseases in our body is mediated by immune cells. But what do you know about how our emotions control our immune cells that decides the nature of autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Candace pert in her research discovered that cells in our body communicate with each other in the form of neuropeptides. This neuropeptides act as vehicle that carries information from one cell to the other. These neuropeptides brings an action in a cell by binding to the receptors present over the cells. By doing so these neuropeptides conveys information to the cell’s DNA and brings an amazing reaction in cells. The process of binding of neuropeptides over cell receptors is known as “sex on a molecular level”.

But the turning point of the research was when Dr. Candace pert discovered that 85 -95% of neuropeptides are found in the limbic system including amygdala, hippocampus and the limbic cortex. These are known as the storehouse of emotions in the brain. In 1920, researchers have been successful in stimulating the limbic cortex over amygdala. Pert found high concentrations of neuropeptides in these locations (limbic system) where the information from our 5 senses is relayed. This brought a new light of discovery that limbic system had an amazing connection with the neuropeptides that carries information. The limbic system in other words conveyed the information of emotions to these neuropeptides.

Later, she discovered that the receptors for these neuropeptides were also found on the immune cells. For every Neuropeptide that was found in the brain; the immune cell had the exact receptor for these neuropeptides to bind. This was the most groundbreaking discoveries of all of them. Because it has proved that our immune system constantly communicates with limbic system of our brain through neuropeptides. In other words the program of emotions was conveyed to the Immune cells. The nature of emotions exactly exhibited the behavior of immune cells.  If the emotions were destructive, immune cells too exhibited destructive behavior causing destruction of body’s own cells.

I call this phenomena of transferring emotions from the limbic system to body as the “The paradigm shift of Emotions”.  Because I later experimentally proved this discovery by application of NLP psychotherapeutics over my clients with autoimmune disorders. I reprogrammed their emotions with the world’s best known psychotherapeutic tools of the 21st century. This gave me the most amazing and marvelous results by a total resolution of the autoimmune disorders in some of my clients. While some of them had a marked decrease in the clinical presentations of symptoms and signs of autoimmune disorder. The emotions transferred from limbic system in coded later in the cells of our body known as Biomemmory. In other words cells in our body share the information of our emotions. Each organ in our body is virtually a battery of emotions too. The negative emotions being harbored in the respective site was the other possibility of the site of development of pathology or the disorder.

The findings that I discovered from my psychotherapeutic experience was that: The self-destructive emotions like self-criticism, guilt, revenge was the most top rated negative emotions which created the self-destructive programs in the immune cells that caused the immune cells to attack its own body cells. When we was successful in reprogramming the negative emotions with the positive emotions with the NLP psychotherapeutics, we discovered that there was a total resolution of autoimmune disorders and on the other hand who dint totally resolved from the autoimmune disorder had a marginal decrease in the symptoms and signs of autoimmune disorder. It was found that positive emotions like love, care, affection, forgiveness and letting go applied in the psychotherapeutics were highly powerful to completely heal and resolve autoimmune disorders of the clients.

Yes! By programming our emotions we are able to program the functioning of the immune cells in our body because the behavior of immune cells was nothing but the behavior of the human emotions. In short “Each neuropeptide is nothing but a vehicle that carries information on emotions stored in the brain. So whenever the brain releases these neuropeptides an emotion will be embedded in them in the form of information. Whenever these neuropeptides bind to a cell receptor this embedded emotion will be transferred to the DNA of the immune cells. The transferred information of emotions programs the DNA to transcript and translate to produce its protein. In sum each emotion will lead to the synthesis of a particular type of protein in the body.” And the “nature of emotions determine the nature of message carried by the neuropeptides and the information in these neuropeptides will determine the behavior of the immune cells of our body”. “Self-Destructive emotions will force immune system of our body to attack body’s own cells creating autoimmune disorders whereas Self-constructive emotions are able to bring about resolution and healing of the autoimmune disorders. Thus by programming the emotions using NLP psychotherapeutics we are able to heal the autoimmune disorders that the modern medicine is fighting hard to cure with steroids and immunomodulators”.

1) The Science of Emotions: Dr. Fahad Basheer

A half century ago we believed that our genes controlled our growth. Every single people were fed with the concept that the genes control the growth from their schools. But this concept has been dumped out a few years back. With the advent of epigenetics we have finally discovered that our environment controls our genes.   Epigenetics have shown us how genes obey our Emotions!

Yes! Emotions do command our genes! In an experiment conducted by Dr. Bruce Lipton, in his laboratory have shown some of the most stunning discoveries of our cells.  He cultured a group of cells in two medium.  One of the medium had abundant number of nutrients that accelerated the growth of the cell. And the other medium was collected with toxins that inhibited the growth of the cells. He then kept the cells in the first medium that contained nutrients that supported the growth at one end of the dish. He observed that the cells traveled towards the opposite end of the dish where the nutrients was collected and kept. He noted that the cells not only migrated towards nutrients but also accelerated its growth. In the other dish which had toxins, the cells migrated away from the toxins. This was quite amazing! It not only migrated but it retarded its growth.  This proved that the environment can influence our growth at cellular level.

Yes! The epigenetics discovered that the environment could control the growth of our cells. The environment decides what the fate our cells should be on one hand.  The environment can be either favorable or not favorable for the growth of cells. The environment includes Toxins, Drugs or even Neuropeptides that carry emotions. Once a Neuropeptide binds with the cell membrane receptor it will generate a reaction cascade that activates DNA in the nucleus of the cell to undergo transcription and translation to produce proteins needed for its growth. These Neuropeptides are often produced from the Limbic system of our brain.

Yes! What would be the fate of our body if each and every cell in our body experiences this epigenetic phenomenon? Can you guess what will be our fate if we are nurtured with positive emotions? And can you guess what would be our fate if we are nurtured with negative emotions? The emotions are available in our body chemically as Neuropeptides. These neuropeptides can determine the nature of growth of our cells in our body.

Yes! In our daily life when we are been imparted with positive emotions like love, care and affection etc. it acts like the nutrients that aid the growth of our cells. But if we are imparted with negative emotions like unhealthy criticisms, stress, frustrations etc. it will act as toxins that would inhibit the growth of our cells. In other words Love promotes growth of the cells and fear regress the growth of the cells. But do you know to how much extent can our emotions affect our growth? Let me put forth an example of interesting clinical phenomena that you would see around you. It’s called the psychosocial dwarfism.

Psychosocial dwarfism is a condition seen in children brought up in an environment lacking positive feelings and those subjected to mental and physical abuse. Here the negative environment impacts the growth hormone negatively. It may be remembered that the Growth hormone is essential for growth of the body. It is vital for bone development, glycogenolysis in the liver, lipolysis in the adipose tissues and for synthesis of new proteins that are essential for the growth of our body. As a result of the poor environment the child’s growth rate suffers and the child does not attain the growth of other normal children of his / her age. But when this child with psychosocial dwarfism is exposed to a loving and caring environment, the growth rate is automatically accelerated without even administering the Growth hormone. This goes to show that negative impact on the mind has a direct impact on the total physiological development of an individual. And it also shows that positive impact on the mind has a direct impact on the total physiological development of an individual. In other words our emotions can control the Functioning of growth hormone that controls the growth of a person.

Studies have recently discovered that a sincere touch of mothers love can accelerate the production of nerve growth factor (NGF) causing a boost in the development of nervous system of child. Life becomes beautiful when love pierces into its skeleton. Love is not only an emotions but a spirit that can bring life into existence. Love is indeed the most expensive and precious gift that a human can achieve in his life. Growth is a process by which our cells proliferate and differentiate to different organs and systems in our body. Growth is the most vital medicine of our body that is essential for each and every child. Growth is aided by the growth hormone and insulin growth factors. Growth factor is influenced by the emotions that govern the activity of the growth hormone. Yes! Our emotions are the one that controls the activity of growth hormones and it production. Creation of positive emotions can create the most powerful and well efficient growth hormones that can bring sprout of growth in our children.

By imparting positive strokes like loving, caring and affection towards our children can boost his growth. Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals are essential for the growth of a child. But these are only the raw material for the growth. But this cannot promote growth. For growth to occur Growth hormones plays the most vital role in the promotion of growth. And this growth is in turn controlled and influenced by our emotions. By generation of positive emotions we are indeed able to increase our growth. So spend time in activities that create happiness and start being with people who gives you positives and live with people whom you love the most. Share your positive feelings  with others. Live in the harmony of love that brings an amazing wealth of love that pours life into action. So promote your growth by boosting it with the most powerful positive emotions of love that stimulates and accelerates the growth of your body, by promoting skeletal growth, organogenesis through the action of growth hormones on its specified receptors. Boost your growth with the most powerful weapon on earth “Love”.
